Just helpin' out

Many people wonder how they will bring up the topic of the birds and the bees when that time comes. Everyone knows it's a bit awkward to say, "so and so? I need to tell you about something." Well, I have the solution for you, and it's in the picture directly below. Most young men have had this experience, and consider it the clearest instruction on, and best approach to the topic they ever had, despite the efforts of parents and teachers. The situation is this. It's very simple. Father finds some plumbing project around the house, and asks son to come and help him out. Hopefully the son says, "sure." You begin working. The son watches and helps as needed. Then comes the perfect entrance into the awkward topic. The father says, "son, go get me that female end joint over there (for those not familiar at all with plumbing, that's actually what it's called)." The son then asks, "which one is the female end?" The son may be a little worried that the father will get frustrated because he doesn't know what the female end is, and now the father will have to crawl out of the cupboard and go get it himself. But the father is actually smiling because now there will be no awkward moment when introducing the birds and the bees. The father retrieves the female end, grabs a male end, and is able to proceed with the object lesson. No need for further discussion after that. This picture is actually when grandpa was ripping out the vanity in search of Julie's ring. Trey didn't get the birds and the bees talk at this moment, but we just may have to lose a ring in about 10 years or so:) They did find 17 combs between the vanity and the wall, though. Always helping some way or another. He's obviously cleaning here.
